Quiraing is the name of a landslide on the eastern side of the Meall na Suiramach, the northernmost peak of the Trotternish Ridge on the island of Skye in Scotland. Quiraing is 543 m high and its name comes from Oudnoord. The words kvi and edge mean round pleating. In Goidelian, this place is called Cuith-Raing.
It is said that at the time of the Vikings' raids, cattle were hidden here. Quiraing is the only part of this area that is still shifting: the road at the base at Flodigarry still needs to be repaired every year.
Normally I take photo's of (large) objects for customers, but another big passion is photographing beautiful landscapes. Anything beautiful might be something I would capture in my frame.
