The railway bridge at Gellik is a four-section bridge over the Albert Canal in Gellik, in the Belgian municipality of Lanaken. The bridge is part of railway line 20 Hasselt - Maastricht.
The bridge was built during the construction of the canal in the 1930s and with a span of 112.75 meters it is the longest quadruple bridge in Belgium. The bridge has not been used since the closure of the line in 1992.
It was quite a dangerous job to be able to take a picture because many parts are loose and there are holes all over the running part. I could see into the depths and because of my fear of heights I was happy to make the climb down again.
I am a photographer from The Netherlands. I think everything can be beautiful, it depends on how you look at it and how you use your imagination.
