About the artwork

A rainbow is a coloured circular arch that can be observed in the sky when the (low-level) sun shines against a mist of water droplets and the sun is behind the observer. It is an optical effect caused by the refraction and reflection of light in the water droplets. This rainbow stood over a vast landscape. A rainbow takes its name from its appearance when it rains, but a rainbow can also be seen in a cloud of water droplets from a waterfall, garden hose or fountain and sometimes over the surf in the sea. From a plane or from a mountain peak, a rainbow can be visible as a circle (see Circular rainbow below), when no horizon is in the way. The light is reflected and refracted into a spectrum of the primary colours, which merge into each other. The centre of the arc, as seen from the observer, is directly opposite the sun, and is therefore by definition below the horizon. Observer and arc together form an imaginary cone with the observer at the tip of the cone and the rainbow along the arc edge of the base of the cone. Inside the cone, the arc has a half top angle of about 42 degrees; the width of the colour band from red to violet is about 2 degrees. The colours of the rainbow are traditionally named as (from outside to inside): red , orange , yellow , green , blue , indigo and violet . The sequence can be remembered as ROGGBI

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
