"Scotland always calls to me, and I really don't know why. Perhaps she needs to taste my tears, when her beauty makes me cry" wrote the poet Robert Burns. And so completely rightly so because Scotland is a beautiful country with hospitable inhabitants. Not for nothing are newcomers warned that they will be infected with the 'Scotland virus' and always want to come back. Heath, rock and water. Rannoch Moor is a vast and (almost) untouched moorland in Scotland's Highlands. Desolate and beautiful and where you can see the Golden Eagle soaring majestically through the sky.
I graduated from teacher training college D'Witte Leli in Amsterdam in the subjects Drawing and Handicrafts. Even during my studies, I often carried out assignments slightly differently from what was asked. That 'different' then manifested itself in unusual use of materials, combinations of techniques and different points of view. The ultimate goal was, and still is, to make something I like. That 'different' also manifested itself in the desire to keep trying new things. With my works, you will also not easily find the common thread or judge them as one-sided. There are so many nice things in life!
