This young iguana (Ctenosaura bakeri) was resting on a dead piece of mangrove. This species only occurs on the island Utila, in Honduras. Because this species only occurs there and is still hunted for food, it is seriously endangered.

My name is Thijs van den Burg, a sport-addicted Biology student with a wanderlust issue :) Simultaneously with studying I started with nature photography, a major hobby of mine in which I invest heaps of my free time. I love to show people the wonders of nature through my photography with a special emphasis on the tropical rain forests around the world. However, also place close to home, either in the Netherlands or in Europe, have an enormous variety of flora and fauna just waiting to be photographed. I focus on numerous areas within nature photography, with a special emphasis on reptiles and amphibians, the species I also study in my academic career. Besides taking marco images, I also love to show animals in their natural habitat.
