Late April in Umbria, Italy and the wild lilac is flowering up on my mountainside. I have a love-hate relationship with it because although I love these shades of pink flowers and their delicate perfume, I am horribly allergic to it! For that reason I could not have them as cut flowers in the house, but I can appreciate their beauty in my garden.
As a nod to my allergies, this photo art image has been given a suggestion of the blooms emerging from a haze of pollen, revealing hidden lilac. They sit within a group of iris and in this image the pointed leaves of the iris provide the perfect backdrop to the pink flowers of the lilac.
Born in the South of England I now live half way up a mountain in Umbria, Italy. I work from my art studio looking out over fabulous views of the Italian countryside. I am so happy to share my artwork with you.
