It is one of the best-known post-war Dutch passenger ships. It went through the last decade of transatlantic liner shipping between 1959 and the end of 2000 and was then a successful cruise ship. Since 4 August 2008, the ship has been located as a floating attraction (tours, hotel-café-restaurant) at Third Katendrecht Head in Rotterdam's Maashaven. It is one of Rotterdam's 'nautical eye-catchers' and a visit to this ship is definitely worthwhile.
Welcome to my site at Werk aan de Muur!
I am a passionate portrait photographer and for my autonomous work my focus is on urban landscapes. My photographic work tells the story of cities, with Rotterdam surely being central in terms of preference.
This dynamic city, full of contrasts between modern and historic, forms the ideal background for my mainly black-and-white photographs, where light and shadow combine to create a timeless atmosphere.
My photos invite you to discover the city's raw beauty in a new way. Each image captures a moment of stillness in the hustle and bustle of urban life, a silent witness to a world that is always in motion. Whether it is the architecture of Rotterdam, deserted streets or unexpected perspectives, my work aims to take you into the depth and soul of the city.
