During the trips into nature you come across all sorts of things that do not really belong there, but have been placed or left behind by man. Usually I try to avoid this in the photo or shop it out while editing. This time I used it as the subject of the photo. This rusty bike was probably fished out of the nearby water at the Krabbeplas in Vlaardingen and then, I guess, the bike didn't fit in the trash can that stood by the picnic table. Surrounded by the green grass and numerous buttercups, it remained a rusty bike, but a rusty bike in a very nice colorful setting. In any case it provided a photo for the VillaJoepCollection 2022.
The proceeds (my commission) I will fully donate to the Villa Joep Foundation. I sincerely hope that you will order something beautiful from this special Villa Joep Collection for charity!
I got photography from home. It was my father's hobby. In my youth he had his own darkroom to develop his photos. Later I started to photograph myself with an analogue camera. In the meantime it has made way for a digital SLR camera. No more photo rolls, but unlimited cutting. I photograph all kinds of things.
B12 Deficiency and Thin Fiber Neuropathy (DVN) threw some soot in the food in terms of possibilities. Now I briefly go out with my scooter or wheelchair and take my camera with me or look for it closer to home in the garden, so I can still take nice pictures. Again and again I see nice things to capture. I like to share all that beauty and who knows, there might be a nice picture for you on your wall!
With my photography I also want to draw attention to B12 Deficiency and DVN. I am very happy with the cooperation between the B12 institute and Erasmus MC, Department of Clinical Chemistry. They founded the B12 Institute Research Foundation.
Because I would like to support this Foundation with their good and important work, I would like to donate 10% of my commission from the sale of my photos to them. So when you buy a picture of my hand for on your wall, you help to raise awareness of (h)recognition and treatment of B12 Deficiency. DVN can be the cause of, among other things, untreated B12 Deficiency.
