I took this photo on the Erelosche heath. The buildings are a sheepfold and a visitor centre. The sheepfold can hold up to 400 sheep; in spring, the flock itself consists of up to 350 sheep. At the time the picture was taken, the Sheepfold was on the moor. As you can see, it was also overcast when I was on the moor, you can see the structure in the clouds. The breed of sheep is the Veluwe heath sheep. The sheep pen is so-called potting shed where they collected manure. The sheep herd is now used to graze/maintain the heathland.
Welcome to my shop. My name is Gerard de Zwaan and I was born in 1983 in the Veluwe town of Harderwijk, where I still live. I started photography in 2013. My first camera was a Nikon D3200 which I still own, currently I use a Nikon D7200. Every now and then I also use 1 or 2 Nikon SB700 reportage flash units to highlight a subject. From the beginning I mainly do nature photography, it is mainly landscapes I photograph, the Veluwe woods around Harderwijk being a perfect starting point for this. Occasionally I do macro photography and sometimes I photograph wildlife. Occasionally, I also do portraits of people, which can be commissioned or free work.
