The Siegessäule is a monument in Berlin. The column of honor is located in the Großer Tiergarten on the Großer Stern, a large traffic junction in the middle of the park. The reason for its construction was Prussia's victory over the Danes in the War of 1864.
On the column is the 8.30 meter high and 35 ton gilded bronze statue of Victoria, the Roman goddess of victory.
The photo was taken from the stairway leading up to the statue in the square.
Nature photography and travel photography. Two forms of photography that appeal to me enormously. Both are great to combine!
I love to look for the sometimes more unknown, but special places that are unique and characteristic of a town or city. An authentic narrow street, a stately building or a picturesque square, photographed with different conditions in weather and light, which results in powerful photos.
I also try to show the weather and the lighting clearly in landscape photos. Long exposure times for a dreamy atmosphere or beautiful clouds for a dynamic panorama also yield powerful photos.
This way I am always traveling through nature and culture!
