A black and white photo of an evening at Sigmaringen Castle. This Castle in the town of Sigmaringen is also called Castle Hohenzollern, which is rather confusing, there since there is also Castle Hohenzollern is near Hechingen.
Both the Slot and the Castle belonged to the same family: the princes of the House of Hohenzollern. Both castles are located in the Schwäbische Alb region, but Sigmaringen's is on the southern edge. It was built on an elongated limestone cliff from the Jura. The rock is 20 meters long and rises some 35 meters above the Danube. It is the largest Castle located along the Danube.
