Skyline of Dordrecht with Grote Kerk after sunset. Dordrecht is located where the Merwede splits into the North and Old Maas rivers. In the Middle Ages, the city developed as an important trading city and staple town and was one of the six major cities of Holland. Later, the city's importance declined, but its inner city still recalls this rich past. The Grote or Onze-Lieve-Vrouwekerk church is the largest church in this city. It is a cross basilica in Brabant Gothic style with an unfinished tower. The tower is 65 metres high and is crooked. This is due to the swampy ground. This photo was taken on 14 March 2016.
