Sleeping Beauty matures into a woman in her sleep. You see the Madonna-like face of the sleeping princess, framed by sparse rose vines, as if in a vacuum. The young woman is pale, all colors are reduced. Only one rose is of intense color. It covers her eye.
I love fairy tales and I always have ideas how I want to depict different fairy tale characters. So this may not be the last depiction of Sleeping Beauty.
This image shows only a section of the original. The full picture shows the girl up to her belly (in her dress). I will make this image available as an NFT soon, as it is the only version where you can see the full image.
This present version is meant to convey the feeling of beauty (woman and nature) as well as peacefulness. It is meant to combine dream with reality and put the viewer in a positive, relaxed mood.
The image was created as a digital painting on a Wacom graphics tablet in Photoshop. My buyers and fans know that most of my works are created with 3D programs and Photoshop, and that I attach great importance to a realistic representation in an often surreal environment. With this painting, I return to digital painting. Less realism, more symbolism.
I would be delighted if you accompany me on my artistic journey.
Britta Glodde is a digital artist from Germany with Spanish residency and a self-confessed Aries. She has been drawing and painting since her father taught her - today she teaches herself: "I love trying new techniques. That's how I discovered the possibilities of digital art. I started with 3D rendering about 12 years ago, then I moved on to digital painting and for some time now I have been incorporating parts of photos into my works. My style may have changed over time, but my preferred subjects have not. I have a weakness for female beauty (faces and eyes mainly). I like to portray my fantasy ladies in a surreal context. My favourite series deals with women and food - which is not surprising when you know how passionate I am about feasting. Another passion of mine is imagining and writing fantasy worlds/stories. In other words: I think nothing is impossible - I believe in fairy tales - and I can discover magic everywhere. So if I can bring a little magic to your walls, I am very happy."
