Soulfulness
I made this self-portrait in an old church on top of a hill on the Outer Hebrides, Scotland.
It was a beautiful location overlooking the mountains. Very old graves, so old they were crooked.
You could also enter the church, I found out. With my things already packed and my warm clothes on, I walked into the church.
Immediately my eye caught the light on the plateau.
Images emerged and within a few minutes I had my camera ready on my tripod, my dress on and was on my knees on the plateau.
It was a moment of inspiration, of peace and stillness.
With her work, Mieke helps people to remember the power of their imagination, the place where dreams become visual, and she helps to bring you back to the core, the place of our magic, through mystical self-portraits where connection with and slowing down in nature is central!
