The squirrel (Sciurus vulgaris) is also often called common or red squirrel. It is a true tree dweller, running and jumping through the trees like an acrobat. Their coat colour ranges from red (orange) to chestnut or dark brown. Squirrels stand out because of their large fluffy tail, plumed ears, big eyes and long toes with long sharp nails. The squirrel was looking for treats in the forest.
