The Catharinakerk of the Frisian village of Lions (Leons) is a rewarding object to photograph, here brightly lit from the back left by the newly-risen sun.
The little church dates from the 12th century and is no longer in use for church services; concerts are sometimes held there or there is an exhibition of art.
The water is the Lionser opvaart and gives the picture a little extra atmosphere. When you are here early in the morning, it is like stepping into another world while you are near the provincial road from Leeuwarden to Boslward.

My name is Jaap Bosma, involved in photography for more than 50 years.
Over the years, I have collected a lot of beautiful prints on my hard disk from which I have made nice photo books via the Blurb website (type in Jaap Bosma and you can view them) but now that I have more time, I want to show my photos to more people via this platform in the hope that there is interest and I can sell work.
Started in the analogue era, developing and printing myself, of course, but nowadays a lot has changed and I make my images with my Fujifilm X-T2 camera with accompanying lenses.
Always looking for the beautiful in nature, landscapes and cities and buildings have my interest the most. I usually try to take a slightly different point of view than would be obvious. Here and there I use some image editing on my photos to enhance/change the atmosphere and give the photo more power or a different look.
