St. Rombouts Cathedral in Mechelen is the main church of the Archdiocese of Mechelen-Brussels. As the seat of the metropolitan of the Belgian church province, it is the metropolitan church of Belgium. The cathedral is especially famous for its more than 97-meter tower with its two carillons. As part of a group of 56 belfries and church towers in Belgium and France, the tower is listed as a World Heritage Site.
Photographer Wil Crooymans travels through Europe to capture the magic of the most beautiful abandoned buildings in his own unique way.
