An old plum variety, the Reine Claude, greenish yellow in color and a true feast 2nd half of August when ripe. Fresh sweet, aromatic and honeyed in taste. The "Reine" of plums, named after Queen Claude, Queen of France 1514 -1524.
The Reine Claude are shown here in a classic setting, in a green glazed earthenware bowl with ear.
