In September 2011, Laurens Reij And Chris James started a new series of Lakeside Stories in the brasserie of Schouwburg Het Park in Hoorn. The Lakeside Stories had been the stage for singersongwriters from the Hoorn area in the 1980s and they wanted to make a fresh start. I was asked to take the first promotional photos and I gladly complied. Besides a number of photos of the initiators, I also took some detail shots, because I just love those. this guitar of Chris is lying flat on one of the beautiful benches in the foyer of the theatre.

Mijn naam is Mark Leek. Ik ben in 1968 geboren in Blokker. Van beroep ben ik adjunct-directeur van een speciale basisschool in Hoorn. Daarnaast ben ik voor D66 gemeenteraadslid in Hoorn. In mijn vrije besteed ik graag veel tijd aan fotograferen.
Via een klein Agfaatje, een Pentax spiegelrefles, een Canon spiegelreflex en verschillende kleine digitale cameraatjes kocht ik een digitale spiegelreflex. Een Nikon D70s. Een korte cursus bij Fotogram in Amsterdam was de springplank.
Inmiddels ben ik actief voor de lol, doe ik bruidsreportages, fotografeer ik vrijwillig bij evenementen, verkoop ik zo af en toe werken via dit medium, doe ik mee aan veilingen en doe ik opdrachten voor tijdschriften.
Maar vooral geniet ik veel van fotograferen zelf. Inmiddels met een fullframe D700. Ik ben gek op het vastleggen van details van grote voorwerpen. Schepen bijvoorbeeld, maar ook muziekinstrumenten vind ik interessant.
