"Still life with flowers in taupe: The hydrangea leaf in the light" is a macro photo of a leaf of the hydrangea that has already partially decayed, allowing you to beautifully see the vein structure of the leaf. If you zoom in on the work, you can see the vein structure well at the top two leaves. The leaves are very fragile and thin, making the veins stand out beautifully.
The colours give this work a warm feel. The many different shades of brown (grey, beige, taupe and sometimes almost golden), among others, ensure this. The background is grey-brown, and the leaf reflects in the background.
When taking this photo, I chose a shallow depth of field. the further back you look, the blurrier the leaf becomes. This (together with the lighting) creates depth in the work.
The leaf lies on a mirrored surface that does have a texture. As a result, there is no tight shadow, but an almost painterly reflection.
This work could, for example, hang beautifully as a wall decoration in the waiting room, bedroom, hallway or simply above the sofa in the living room! Also beautiful on the wall in a meeting room (business).
