In a small cove located at the foot of the Peñón de Ifach Natural Park in Calpe, round polished stones bear witness to the power of the sea water. Away from the tourist beaches, I like to linger in this rocky cove to enjoy the tranquil ambience of the Mediterranean coast and observe the imposing rock formations.
The rock called Peñón de Ifach (Penyal d'Ifac) is the landmark of the coastal town of Calpe and a popular travel destination on the northern Costa Blanca. The small hiking trails in the lower part of the nature park lead to remote places that have a very special charm. If just before you were in the lively coastal town and on the well-known beaches of Calpe, the small nature trails lead to viewpoints and picturesque bays. These are places where you can enjoy the tranquility of nature. I love to be inspired by the relaxing effect of the sound of the sea and the shapes of the rocks.
The stones in this photograph are meant to represent the peace and serenity that I perceive at the foot of the Peñón de Ifach. The power of the water gave the rock its shape. Rocks that bear the marks of time and symbolise the constant change in nature. So this minimalist coastal scene is meant to bring some of the Mediterranean magic of the Costa Blanca into your four walls.
Impressions of the Mediterranean coast. My photographic work is dedicated to the beaches and mountains of the Costa Blanca in Spain. Inspired by long hikes, bright sunlight, plants and sea water. I would like to share my impressions with you and bring the enchantment of the Mediterranean coast into your home.
