This colourful painting is composed of many vertical stripes painted tightly side by side. All the stripes have and different colour, the variation in colours creates a cheerful colour palette.
I named the painting 'Je t'aime' in reference to the tulip that is so named. I give my stripe paintings the name of a tulip, which I think suits it best or evokes the right feeling.
They incorporate primary colours, but shades of brown also recur. The whole is cheerful but also soft and warm in colour. The stripes give it a neutral but present look that doesn't get boring quickly. The original painting is painted in oil and measures 40 x 40 cm.
I enjoyed making this painting because I really like colours.
The clean minimalist stripes look great in a modern interior, but also fit many other styles.
Painting is my great passion. For years, I have been painting at home in my studio in the attic. Every spare hour I can be found there. It started with portraits of women, nice and big and loose. For some time now, I have also been painting abstracts, including colourful stripes. I paint with oil paint.
