Sulho Sipilä (1895-1949) was a Finnish painter and illustrator who is considered one of the most important representatives of Finnish modernism. Born in Helsinki, he studied at the University of Art and Design Helsinki and at the Academy of Fine Arts. Sipilä is known for his landscape paintings, cityscapes and portraits, which are characterised by clear lines and bright colours. His work shows influences of Cubism and Fauvism. In addition to his artistic activities, he also worked as a graphic artist and teacher. Sipilä left a significant legacy on the Finnish art scene, reflecting his innovative techniques and unique stylistic signature.
