About the artwork

Perhaps one of the cosiest corners on the large square the Vrijthof in Maastricht. The terrace in front of café de Perroen looks inviting and is waiting for the first guests as soon as the Saint Servatius Basilica is 'out'.

A beautiful city with the Maas in the middle, the bridges and with a breathtaking hilly landscape in the distance.

Maastricht is a friendly city of bravura with its own real recognized language. The city of the Geis, the Mooswief, Minckelers, Slevrowe, André Rieu and The Maastricht Treaty.

The song "Ode to Maastricht" by the late singer Benny Neyman makes many Maastricht people wipe away a tear.
