This work shows a group of rocks illuminated red at sunrise by the first rays of the sun rising just above the horizon. The landscape is desolate with bare rocks while plants are almost absent; typical of a desert. Once, this group of stones was a large rock, but erosion broke it apart. What remained is today's jaggedly shaped rock lot. The sky above the rocks is cloudless. No people or animals are present in the photo.
The photo was taken in the Namib Desert in Damaraland in northwestern Namibia.
