The mountains surrounding El Chaltén are impressive and unprecedentedly beautiful. Weather conditions change throughout the day and are therefore hard to predict.
Therefore, the conditions during sunrise at Lago de los Tres, overlooking the most famous mountain Fitz Roy, are often impossible to tell in advance.
Then again, if an orange glow from the sun is allowed to fall on the mountains, it makes up for the entire early-morning climb up.
