Sunset in the mountains near Lalibela. Lalibela is a holy city in northern Ethiopia. The area surrounding Lalibela is mountainous. The city itself lies at an altitude of about 2,500 meters. Lalibela is a very interesting place. When you walk through the city you have the feeling that you have landed several centuries back in time. In the middle of the city there are 11 churches carved out of the rock. These rock churches are on UNESCO's World Heritage List and are said to have been carved in the 13th century. The people are predominantly Orthodox and it is well worth experiencing a mass in one of the churches.
In the surroundings of Lalibela beautiful (day) walks can be made. Depending on the season, the landscape is green (in the rainy season) or brown (in the dry season). Ethiopia is located in the east of Africa and is a varied country.
Diana and Ronnie like to travel to areas where few tourists come.
With our photography we want to take the viewer along on our journeys of discovery. We like to meet other people and enjoy the beauty of a country. We want to tell stories and thus touch the viewer, make them curious, make them think and inspire them.
Diana: "My passion for photography was born through travel."
Ronnie: "I prefer to travel to countries around the Sahara and the Himalayas."
