Last summer we took a wonderful tour of Norway. In Trondheim we boarded the Hurtigruten, the "mail boat" that sails along the long coast of Norway to deliver cargo. Tourists can also sail on this. We had barely left the port of Trondheim or it began to rain. The further south we went, the worse the weather became. The swell increased so I didn't feel very comfortable. I had seen pictures of tourists who had great views of the Norwegian coast from the boat; all we saw was fog and rain. But toward the end of the day it cleared up and we entered calmer waters. When we could get back to normal on the outside deck, a beautiful palette of colors opened up over the Norwegian coastline. Soft colors like pink, orange and yellow appeared over the sea. Above the fjords an interplay developed between the clouds, the sun and the wind. The massive cloud cover was increasingly blown apart and the as-yet-strong sun poked the loose sheep clouds in various softer shades of gray. Where the sun got through the most, the coastline was also illuminated. It was the most beautiful sunset I have ever seen.
This photo will look beautiful against a white wall or a wall with pastel colors.
Since a few years I have discovered the passion for photography. I call myself primarily an outdoor photographer: when I'm outside, my eye scans the surroundings, looking for that one image that catches my eye, and which I can then take a nice picture of.
