In Victorian times, London used to be often enveloped in what we call a pea soup fog. You see it depicted in the old black and white Sherlock Holmes films for example, people could hardly see their hands in front of their faces. During a rather nasty storm, I a night photograph while I was standing on Westminster Bridge looking along the Embankment to St Pauls Cathedral. It was very stormy with swirling black clouds, rain showers and as the visibility changed it reminded me of those heavy fogs. So using photopainting techniques I created this night cityscape with all the gloom and strangeness that you get from such a thick fog. This is one of three Thames Night View Abstract images.
Born in the South of England I now live half way up a mountain in Umbria, Italy. I work from my art studio looking out over fabulous views of the Italian countryside. I am so happy to share my artwork with you.
An artist and writer, I specialize in photo art and acrylic painting. For my photo art, I start with my own photographs and work on them digitally to capture the feeling I want to convey with the final image. For my abstract work, I literally 'go with the flow' and follow where my heart wants to take me as I work.
I create art to make your heart smile, capturing the spirit of place in towns and villages, or creating art to enhance the energy of your home or workplace. Take your time to look through my portfolio, I hope you enjoy it.
