It is hard to guess how old this olive tree really is. Just from seeing the bottom of the tree you can see that it is really old. The base of the old olive tree is gnarled and worn, with holes and interesting shapes, caused by years of weather erosion and the activity of animals. The tree sits in an olive grove in Umbria, Italy and continues to contribute large quantities of olives for olive oil production.
