The Birth of Venus, after the work of Sandro Botticelli - Pop Art by MadameRuiz

MadameRuiz Profile picture Alessandro Filipepi, better known as Sandro Botticelli, was a painter of the Italian Renaissance. His most famous works "The Birth of Venus" and "La primavera" date from the 15th century and hang side by side in the Uffizi Gallery in Florence. Two immensely large and detailed canvases, with numerous flowers. The Venus of the first mentioned painting has been shining on the Italian currency for ages. The wavy hair of this typical Botticelli lady captures the imagination of many.

In this portrait, Venus is completely removed from her familiar surroundings. We no longer need the complete work to be able to see the entire painting in our minds. Worked out in a fairly monochromatic color contrast with clear pink gray as the overtone, with Venus still central to the composition.

The loose, playful touches give this work a spontaneous and modern character. And the colors give this work an absolute pop art vibe. An old master, a true classic, in a new guise.

I am MadameRuiz, and am an artist by profession. I hope to delight you with my work. Here in my profile, or on your wall :) Both are fun!

Will you let me know what you think of my work? I would love to get in touch with you. Also when you have one of my works in your home I am very curious about the end result in your interior.

I love everything that has to do with art, culture and creativity. Experiencing, creating, teaching and communicating. Through language, image, non-verbal and through the musical voice.

I became known for my commissioned ink portraits. My work was first shown to a large audience in the program VTWonen Weer verliefd op je huis (February 2021). I make many ink portraits of and for individuals; from pregnancy portraits, wedding portraits, child portraits, love portraits and family portraits to portraits of pets such as dogs, cats, horses and birds. These ink portraits are all handmade by the way, drawn and painted with east indian ink on watercolor paper.

In my shop at work on the wall you can order my Digital Art. Because I normally work almost exclusively on commission, my autonomous art via Digital Art is really a wonderful experimental outlet. This also means that I keep experimenting with painting techniques and collage techniques using Photoshop. Although I love to experiment, quality comes first
