About "The Edge Of A Broken Heart"

by Mitchell Tseng

About the artwork

In this intriguing photograph, I am captured as a silhouette, holding a sword thrust into the ground.

The sword, strategically placed and ready to be taken over, symbolises my willingness to let go of control, an essential part of my personal journey of "surrender".

After a heartbreaking break-up, I had to learn emotionally and psychologically to stop fighting my feelings and instead embrace and accept them.

The surrounding fog represents renewal and transformation, like water feeding the soil and enabling new growth.

Creating this atmosphere with fog, along with the use of silhouette, reinforces the emotional message of the photograph. It invites the viewer to introspection and reflection, and hopes to encourage them to explore their own journey of letting go and surrender.
