The butterflies seem to be fleeing from a dark, gloomy world. It seems dead because of the dark colours and colourless leaves. They fly towards the light and warmth. The sculpture leaves it to your imagination whether the butterflies fly out or the other way around.

My name is Marijke van Loon and am trained in the Visual Arts. I also make my photos from this vision. Not the subject, but the way of viewing determines the final image.
