A cartoon version of the Inverted World with strongly exaggerated relief against a background of twinkling stars.
In this world all the land is water and all the water land. Continents are oceans and oceans are continents; islands are lakes and lakes are islands. A planet with more than twice as much land area as ours, grouped around a few enormous water basins.
Here we see the Asian Ocean and the Australian Sea with in between the area of the great lakes: the Borneo Lake, the Sumatran Lake and the Guinean Lake, to name a few. On the left the continent of India can be seen with its vast jungles. On the right we see the huge continent of Pacifica, which consists largely of desert.
There are American and European / African versions of this work as well as a flat world map.

My work can be located in the border regions of photography, painting and computer visuals. With my company 3Develop I do work in commission but I use the same techniques, skills and software to make free work. I am originally an architect and I live in Rotterdam; for that reason the architecture of that city is a major (but not the only) source of inspiration. But also travel to countries like Iceland and Britain, or walks in the Netherlands, provide much material. Seeing and showing quality and beauty, that is what my work is about.
