If one has an abiding interest in classic cars then there is a very good chance that they are already aware of the Jaguar Type D. The legendary sports car from 1956 is one of the most desirable specimens from the history of car manufacturing. It is not difficult to see why. Developed by Pininfarina, the automobile company from Italy, it was one of the first sports cars to feature air suspension and it featured a stretched flat roof. This classic automobile also featured a front wheel that rolled down over the tailpipe. While these features are the hallmark of any true sports car, it is interesting to note that the Jaguar used some of the same styling elements as well. The exterior was marked by sharp squared headlights with two sets of slightly curved light-filters and two large chrome side lights.
As is the case with many of the best classic cars of this period, the Jaguar Type D featured a luxurious interior. The seats were upholstered in plush materials and the dashboard had large, decorated instrument panel. Up front, the engine contained twin screw discharge ignition and it featured side steps. Beneath was fiberglass reinforced plastic oar shell which protects the engine from damage. All the controls were located in the center of the oarshelf and the seats themselves reclined slightly towards the back of the car.
Jan Keteleer, known in the art world as JanKé, is a Belgian artist whose work flows seamlessly between the realms of classical and contemporary art. With an eye for both tradition and innovation, his creations transcend time, encompassing styles as varied as pop art, impressionism, and timeless classicism.
For Keteleer, art is not merely a discipline—it is a language, a vessel for expressing the unspoken depths of human experience. His philosophy is as profound as his technique: "Master every existing method so completely that you can fully convey the essence of what you wish to express."
Through his work, Keteleer invites his audience to look beyond the surface, to engage not just with the visual beauty of his art but with the emotions and ideas that lie beneath. Each piece is a dialogue, a call to reflect, to feel, to connect.
Whether you stand before his modern interpretations or his evocative tributes to classical forms, Keteleer’s art challenges, comforts, and inspires—reminding us of the shared threads that bind our individual stories into a collective human tapestry.
