De Hef is a monumental railroad bridge that lies over the Koningshaven in Rotterdam. The bridge is located on the border of north and south Rotterdam.
The imposing industrial structure dates from 1927 and is one of the most important symbolic monuments of Rotterdam as a port city.
I chose the color sepia because it beautifully symbolizes this piece of nostalgia. The photo was taken at the Maasboulevard at the foot of the Willemsbrug where I took the photo of the Hef through a piece of the 'clothesline' an immense work of art (1982) above the water of the Maas by Auke de Vries.
