The picture reveals the timeless and majestic interior of the Rundetaarn, a 17th-century tower that has become an icon of Danish architecture and history. Upon entering the tower, visitors are welcomed by a serene atmosphere imbued with age-old elegance and understated splendour.
The eye is immediately drawn to the central element of the room: the wide spiral staircase that spirals upwards and leads to the heart of the tower. Built with remarkable craftsmanship, the staircase exudes a sense of endlessness as it climbs upwards, enveloped in a warm glow of soft light seeping in through the narrow windows.
Tall, brick vaults stretch along the walls of the tower, with niches here and there housing some rare works of art and historical artefacts. The sound of footsteps gently echoes against the bricks, creating a soothing rhythm that seems to embrace the tower's history.
The atmosphere exudes a sense of timeless grandeur, where the past and the present merge seamlessly. Every detail, from the rustic stone walls to the exquisite wooden details, adds to the overall charm and allure of this architectural treasure.
The picture invites viewers to immerse themselves in the rich history and understated beauty of the Rundetaarn, where every corner tells a new story and every step is a journey through time.
It all started with a4 paper and HB pencils. As a child I was often impressed by how beautiful the world around me was. The urge to capture this beautiful world, and to show the people around me what I saw, was actually there from the beginning. If I remember correctly, I was about eleven years old when I first met the camera. Of course it was a simple compact camera with a ridiculous quality, but I enjoyed it.
I sometimes said I wanted to be a photographer, but of course you have one of the two parents who says, "Dream on." Strangely enough, I followed the sarcastic remark as advice, and still went to study photography.
