About ‘The Sea near Katwijk - Jan Toorop 1887’
In 1885 Toorop lived in Brussels, where he was a member of the circle of artists "called Les Vingt (out of 20). The effect is real; But when seen close up, it has an incredible mix of colors.
The original hangs in the Rijksmuseum and oil on canvas. This work, therefore, is probably best law on canvas. The original size is 86 x 96 cm.
