This photo was taken in Alkmaar.
The Waag building is a building with a tower on the Waagplein in Alkmaar.
The cheese market is held on the Waagplein in the summer.
The Dutch Cheese Museum and the VVV are located in the building.
In the tower are the famous horsemen and a nice carillon. The building was designated as a national monument in 1969.
On the facade of the Waag is the following saying: "SPQA (Senatus Populusque Alcmariensis) RESTITVIT VIRTVS ABLATAE JVRA BILANCIS".
This means roughly: "Courage and strength gave the government and bourgeoisie of Alkmaar back the lost daredevil".
Photography is my biggest hobby/passion....
I photograph various subjects such as;
People/buildings/animals/flowers/holiday countries.
I am always looking for that special moment or building and make a nice composition of it.
