In the Weerribben-Wieden, you can take beautiful walks, go cycling and enjoy water sports.
The Weerribben looks like a pristine area, but appearances can be deceptive, as every metre of land here has been tilled by man, which is how the Wieden came into being. The extraction of peat changed the landscape into a marshy and watery area with valuable marshland nature.
Reed cutting is done in the first three months of the winter season. The reeds are then stiff and the terrain reasonably passable and frozen.
Created by Roel Jonker.
Since buying my first SLR camera in 2011, I have come to appreciate photography more and more. I often combine photography with hiking in nature. Over time, I have also discovered photo editing in CameraRAW and Photoshop.
