In the Botanic Garden in Copenhagen, Denmark, there is a wonderful ornamental lake that sits near a series of large greenhouses. The lake narrows at one point and this white metal bridge provides a walkway across to the Palm House (Palmehus) which dates from 1874.
The Botanical Garden (Botanisk Have) was first established in 1600. However, it was moved twice before it was ultimately given its current location in 1870. The garden is part of the National History Museum of Denmark which is itself part of the University of Copenhagen Faculty of Science. Its purpose is research, educational and recreational.
On the day I visited the botanic garen, in December, it was crisp and bright and encouraged the most beautiful reflections in the lake, in this case a reflection of the bridge.
