Beelitz Heilstätten is a former hospital complex in Beelitz. During the Second World War the hospital was used as a military hospital. During the war the Russians destroyed many parts of the hospital, other buildings heavily damaged. After the end of the Second World War, Russia was in possession of the hospital and only the sanatorium for women remained accessible to German citizens. At the time when Russia owned the hospital, it was the largest Russian hospital outside their own borders and it was still constantly being renovated or built. In 1994, the Russians returned the entire complex to the municipality of Beelitz itself.
