I always find it fascinating to see what wind and water can do to the sand on a beach. The most beautiful lines and sculptures are often created, and as a photographer you can spend hours looking for beautiful images to be found in them. This photo was taken on the beach of Vlieland, around sunset. The low incident skimming light emphasises the texture of the beautiful lines. I liked the way this young tuft of marram grass tries its best to take root in this difficult and constantly changing surface.

Hallo! Mijn naam is Robert Wierenga. Leuk dat je mijn werk bekijkt. Naast mijn werk als Spoedeisende Hulp arts ben ik actief als landschapsfotograaf. Het vastleggen van onze mooie wereld biedt me een mooi tegenwicht voor de hectiek binnen de ziekenhuismuren. Aangezien ik in Groningen woon, maak ik de meeste van mijn foto's in de 3 noordelijke provincies. Ik trek er graag op uit tijdens de momenten met het mooiste licht, vaak rond zonsopkomst of zonsondergang. Mijn werk kenmerkt zich door eenvoudige, sterke composities en vaak een intensief gebruik van kleur en contrast.
