About the artwork

The common pasque flower, also known as the pasque flower
( Pulsatilla vulgaris ) is a classic harbinger of spring and shines in the landscape from afar with its bright colours. Its flowers sprout upwards before the leaves and are therefore easy for insects to reach. In the open landscape, they are particularly common in the low mountain ranges or the Alps.
However, they are also an enrichment for any garden as they are very grateful.
For me, the pasque flower is a fascinating and rewarding photo motif. Not only the delicate flowers with their fine hairs are marvellous, but also the transformation to the seed heads are very photogenic.
In this picture, I photographed the first blossom of spring with a macro lens to capture as many details as possible.
I photographed the opening blossom with a light-coloured background and in high key mode.
This way the focus is on the large and beautiful blossom.
To reflect the delicacy of the bud, I chose a large aperture, which enlivens the interplay of sharpness and blurriness.
The leaves of the cowslip are vaguely recognisable.
The glowing blossom or a real eye-catcher and enlivens the scenery.
Bring spring and its bright colours into your home.
