Engelsmanplaat is a small uninhabited Wadden Island, it lies between two gullies in the estuary between Ameland and Schiermonnikoog. At the separation of these two gullies, sand has settled. This is how an island was formed. Engelsmanplaat used to be big but not anymore. Three drowning houses stood on Engelsmanplaat. In 1944, two American pilots and two Dutchmen spent 12 days hiding in a house. You can reach the island by walking on the mud flats and it is also an important nature reserve for seals and all kinds of birds.
"From my hometown Hoogezand, I regularly go out to take photos in the provinces of Groningen and Drenthe. Photography has always been my interest. In 2008, I bought my first SLR camera and after that I started to delve more and more into photography and photo editing and have made it my big hobby through self-study. My passion is taking landscape photos at the times of day when the light is most beautiful. Other forms of photography also have my attention such as, evening, macro, long shutter speed photography. Here in the Werk aan de Muur webshop you will find my most beautiful works."
