An own variant of the famous painting: Girl with the Pearl Earring, by Vermeer, situated near the Werkspoor cathedral of Werkspoor Utrecht. Hence the coarse-industrial background with the signs: "High voltage life danger" and "Smoorspoel" and the emblem for toilets.
The actual portrait is a collage of the painting and some photographed facial features, giving the girl a very different facial expression than the original.
Johannes Vermeer meets the smartphone art of Ruben van Gogh in this digital painting.
With each sale I make a change to the work, so you always have your own version.
Although working as a lyrical chronicler, sometimes I see things that are not there; I photograph and edit them.
Recurring elements are: carved mannequins (humanoids) and anonymous 19th century paintings. Working from 100cm I come to sign (Nl only).
