If you dive, you see everything at greater depths only blue, hence the name: "Great deep blue. All corals, anemones, fish and other life, especially if you have light shining, have beautiful colors. I have pieces of paper stuck to this work from magazines. This lpaper gave color and took the smoothness of the canvas. Then I painted the canvas with acrylic paint. It has become a colorful painting. In some places, the pictures from the magazines are still recognizable. In white in the middle you see trees with snow, and the ocher pieces you see straw.

My name is Lida Bruinen, I was born in 1962. After years of drawing mandalas with colored pencil I was ready for more intense materials. In the past I worked with watercolors, but now I mainly choose to paint with acrylics, often in combination with collage. However, some of my work still has the spiritual touch that is characteristic of the mandala. Stimuli from the environment or my own emotions and thoughts are my source of inspiration. That which I am busy with at that moment must come out through a creative outlet. A connecting factor is the use of color. I love bright, expressive colors. My urge to express myself creatively results in a diversity of work, on which actually no label can be placed. I wish the visitor of this site much viewing pleasure.
