These girls are the children of friends of mine. The portrait / photo was taken on Lesbos, Greece after the refugee camp burned down. For over a week families lived on the streets. These girls formed a special friendship, one that will not last forever but is extremely important at times like this.
35% of the proceeds of this photo goes back to the families of these girls.
A beautiful photo for on the wall that will remind you of friendships and these beautiful strong girls every day.
Hi! I'm a documentary photographer from The Hague, the Netherlands. I am fascinated by everything that threatens to disappear - from coffee tents in The Hague to nomads and other tribes all over the world. I also photograph everything that strikes me and often escapes the eye of others; the strange in the normal, the perfect imperfections, the unknown in the known.
In 2019 I published a book about a cultural phenomenon in The Hague: Bakkie Pleuâh - looking inside the coffee shop in The Hague. Now for sale.
