Travelling through Tibet, I had the opportunity to meet extraordinary people. Coarse faces with the imprint of life itself and with joy in their eyes, so pure and open, impressed me a lot. How much those faces can tell!
This painting was created using the drybrush technique. This technique uses a dry brush with a little black oil paint on watercolour paper. The work is painted in many layers and the white or light surfaces are erased in between. This is a very nice technique for rendering animal fur and creating depth in portraits.
When painting animals and portraits of people, it is very important to me to depict deep emotion and feeling.
