This fascinating painting was created in May 2019 and marks a certain change in the painter's artistic work. Until now, I had worked exclusively from the imagination and let myself be guided by abstract ideas, even if these were depicted in a counter-cultural way. This painting, on the other hand, represents an innovation because it can be classified between naturalism and realism.
But what is the intention behind this change? One thinks that I want to build a bridge to the real world with this work. The intention is to create aesthetically pleasing, beautiful and decorative images that at the same time establish a connection with nature.
One can debate whether such works are considered art as much as those defined by their uniqueness, ability to offer surprising perspectives and stimulate new thoughts. This painting successfully combines beauty and realism and leaves room for multi-layered interpretation.
The inspiration for the motif was found in the zoo in Poznan/Poland at the zebra enclosure and was captured in the form of a sketch before being further elaborated in the studio. The intention was to create a realistic landscape close to nature.
The original is an oil painting on wooden panel measuring 40 x 50 cm and was made in the artist's studio in Berlin-Mitte. It is ideal as a high-quality art print for individual room designs and shows the versatility of the artist.
